12 years ago Spiderman flew over the screen for the visitors of Nu.nl
We developed this advertisement in our attic at Keizersgracht. And quite honestly: we still think the ad is very cool.
In the meantime, quite a lot has changed. The attic has become an office. And on a technical level, there are a lot of things different. Back in the day an impactful creative would be made specifically for 1 website, in a site-specific template, after which we would do an 'audit'. Hereafter the tags would go to the publisher who then put it live.
In the current ecosystem, putting a Rich Media campaign live is often a different process. Campaigns are usually deployed programmatically on different websites in a DSP. From that moment on, Weborama creatives go through a maze of platforms and exchanges. All with their own business model and certification process.
But.. What was sometimes gone, is now back: the creativity. It remains cool to see that more than 12 years ago Spiderman already flew over the screen.
